the religious right wants to restrict access to birth control. They want to make sure not only can they not use it, nobody else can either. They try to stop condoms from being handed out. They try to make it legal for pharmicists not to dispense birth control if they don't want to. They're blocking true and accurate information on birth control and replacing it with made up statistics. They're trying to get pregnancy redifined as starting at conception rather than implantation and they plan to use that as a stepping point to ban the birth control pill on the grounds that there is a theoretical possibility that it can cause an embryo not to be implanted. So what they think does make a difference to the abortion rate, because their beliefs affect pro-choicers as well as themselves.
