So he picked a safe issue and made a completely unsurprising announcement, and predictably the entire media world exploded with "ZOMG SO GROUNDBREAKING AND AMAZING OMGWTFBBQ!!!1!!one"

Nothing but a gimmicky, pandering attempt to regain the flagging support of his base.
