The White House has this calculator to put into contrast the President's plan vs. partisan gridlock which would cause temporary payroll tax cuts to expire.


In other news, I heard on NPR that if congress does absolutely nothing--nothing at all (which would allow numerous tax cuts and Medicare fee increases to expire, as well as invoke the "triggered" cuts)--it'd shave $7 trillion off the forecasted 10 year debt. I find it funny that the debt situation could be resolved if congress just stays home.
