I keep seeing this claim thrown around, especially against Generation Y, which I am barely a part of, supposedly.
And really, all anyone can go on at this point are anecdotes. I suppose people could survey various employers and managers about the work ethic of their younger workers. But I doubt I'd trust the data; I would need multiple surveys with the right questions to be convinced of any sort of sweeping behavior amongst my peers.
From my personal experience in all types of jobs since 1999? People of all ages are all across the board. I could give you specific examples of young people who are/were lazy, hard-working, entitled, doormat-prone, smart, clueless... I don't think I see a pattern.
