I assure this is not from the Onion and is not a joke...
This is the scariest thing I've seen in a loong loong time. Scary than anything Bush ever did for sure.
And I'm wanting to point out here that what is happening and the steps that are being taken (perhaps not intentionally? Idk)
In order for the statist/commies to create the perfect society they have to have ultimate power over said society. But they can't, and don't want to, do it by brute force. That method is not effective and creates needless violence. It's far better to eliminate natural social groups and replace them with an omnipotent force of alleged good.
Step one, destroy communities. This step is already done. The idea of a people seeing their local neighborhood as an important social group they are a part of is essentially extinct. It used to be that neighborhoods were a tightly weaved structure of support and trust, which was usually built around a church and local commerce. Interestingly enough, churches have managed to stay every bit as important to people, while people have ceased to depend on them and their local communities for essentially anything. The State and Federal government have entirely usurped the role of good neighbor and helping hand. With current works being footed to disintegrate any level of independence that ever existed for State governments in their relationship with the Feds.
Step two is to step further in to the personal lives of people and eliminate the idea of an autonomous family unit. Now we are being push to believe that parents are not perfect enough and they need stronger and stronger levels of oversight from our friendly government experts. They don't feed their kids right, they don't exercise them enough, we even need public service announcements everywhere because they won't talk to their kids.
Interestingly, this step couldn't work without completion of step one. Because, by and large, strong communities make stronger families. I know that when I was a kid I knew that there was only so much I could get away with because the town had eyes and they were always watching me. Yet the new surrogate neighborhood has yet to install the CCTVs around town yet, let alone in my house.
Then, of course, step three would be elimination of individuality altogether. This one is actually the easiest one because you can't do it until you have all the other pieces together and there's essentially no resistance to be had. Especially in a 1984 world where you can't travel without the government knowing, you have CCTVs everywhere, cash is replaced with electronic fiat, etc.
Or maybe I'm just full of shit and it's normal to want your government to put camera's in people's houses and pay bureaucrats to watch them. I mean it does seem like it would serve to create a more ideal textbook version of society. It's kind of like having the government provide everything so we can pretend that makes it free. Who doesn't like that?
THOUSANDS of the worst families in England are to be put in âsin binsâ in a bid to change their bad behaviour, Ed Balls announced yesterday.
The Childrenâs Secretary set out £400million plans to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV super-vision in their own homes.
They will be monitored to ensure that children attend school, go to bed on time and eat proper meals.
Private security guards will also be sent round to carry out home checks, while parents will be given help to combat drug and alcohol addiction.
Around 2,000 families have gone through these Family Intervention Projects so far.
But ministers want to target 20,000 more in the next two years, with each costing between £5,000 and £20,000 â a potential total bill of £400million.
Ministers hope the move will reduce the number of youngsters who get drawn into crime because of their chaotic family lives, as portrayed in Channel 4 comedy drama Shameless.
Sin bin projects operate in half of council areas already but Mr Balls wants every local authority to fund them.
