I've even read on parenting sites that you're SUPPOSED to teach your children the appropriate term.. they're highly encouraging that now. So no more "pee pee", you're supposed to teach your daughter "vagina" and your son "penis" and "testicles/scrotum" from an early age (potty training age, or whenever they start asking about parts, etc). I guess part of the reason, sadly, is so that in case of sexual abuse the child can tell police/investigators exactly what someone touched without being obscure/vague/using terms that police might not be certain of the meaning. The other part is because it's supposed to be un-offensive. You know, anatomical terms and all.
