The woman who is blamed for the girl killing herself was successfully prosecuted without this law, thereby begging the question, "why do we need this law?"
It's like legislators sit around reading the paper looking for inspiration for some grand new law that they can push through Congress. Then this girl happens to kill herself and, bingo, "there ought to be a law." Except nobody stops to say, "wait a sec, is there already laws in place?"
Don't you think it makes these people look stupid when the case that inspired the law didn't need it? I do!
