that eventually, I'd get the urge to root my Kindle Fire HD 7.
I followed a few threads to root, and customize.
1. [ROOT][HOW TO] Root the Kindle Fire HD and 2 with Windows - Noob (Simple) Version
2. [ROOT][HOW TO] Install Google Play Store Noob (Simple) Version
3. [How to] Install Go Launcher EX and HD Noob (Simple) Version
I'm actually in the midst of deciding which launcher I want to use.
Asking for help from the Fandroids is useless. Everyone says, "Sell the KFHD7 and get a [private] 7 instead". But I've played with a [private] 7, and frankly, the hardware that matters most to me (screen, chassis, speakers) sucks, and it feels cheap. The Kindle Fire HD is a solid device that feels like quality. It's no secret that Amazon sold these KFHD's at cost. The KFHD7 was one of very few devices that survived the CNET Always On torture test with flying colors.
