I used to be very Catholic, when I found out I was a lesbian it put a large wedge inbetween me and the Catholic Church. Not for the Church's teachings to be honest - they can't say homosexual relationships are good - ok whatever, but they do say that it is ok to be gay and Catholic. It is the Catholic Christians however that I have found to be the most hurtful. Not that they mean to be, but they just worry more for your soul and hold to the exact meaning in the words of the Bible.
I still go to church with my parents, I see it as my quality time with them even if I am no longer Catholic. In the mean time I have been looking into other religions that are more gay-friendly.
What I would like to hear is how faith and homosexuality affect each other, your stories, or even thoughts on this matter.
