We are what we are until we are something different... (But we have the ability to speed up our change.)
Lucifer serves a valuable function: he obscures God and makes us doubt Him, thus forcing us to rely on our pleasure seeking nature to lead us to the truer and truer pleasures. That is, if lucifer doesn't make us believe in a false God.
Can any of us, without significant reward or understanding, maintain the discipline necessary for a way we do not desire? (To have an understanding of a way is to get some pleasure in it I think) Our existence facilitates our ability to come to an understanding of god's Way and God's mystery and our doubt of Him ensures that we choose His Way and maintain discipline in It because of an understanding of it and not because of Him.
I am not a god because I cannot do as God does... yet. :D (Probably, to the level at which God does, not in this lifetime.)
Oi! The lesser pleasure I was talking about isn't actually a lesser pleasure. Like every other pleasure we choose we see it as the greater one in the situation in which we see it. The effect of choosing a lesser pleasure over a greater pleasure to give pleasure to another gives us greater pleasure than choosing the greater pleasure over the lesser pleasure to give not pleasure to another, most likely because of the perpetuation of pleasure back to us that should result.
... You know what: the lesser pleasure is a cause which is less pleasureable than the greater pleasure, which is a cause, or at least I'm referring to the cause part. We can get pleasure from both the cause and the effect.
Just because one partner has a desire that requires compromise from the other partner so that it can be fulfilled does not mean the other partner has to compromise. When to compromise is just worked out between them. So, make sure you want only one if you are choosing to be with just one because one may never compromise to let you have another. If you want to live the promiscuous life, live the promiscuous life with those who desire to live the promiscuous life.
Hmph. I think God does not ask more of us than He does of Himself, which, I think, means he is treating others how He would have them treat Him. So, if to be a God we must act as God then we are acting like God if we treat others how we would have them treat us. I think, that... if you are truly doing this, if you are being honest, if you are listening to the Holy Spirit (the Spirit of Truth) then you should never do an unacceptable thing in God's eyes...
So I think I have the answer to my question: :How do I become a God?" Now, how do I create a bunch of cool shit, like a harem of females? :D I think the answer is faith. If God Himself needs faith for His will to work, why would we be any different? So, I'm thinkin' another reason for God's mysterious ways may be to help us strengthen our faith... If we can come to believe in Him without really being sure that we see Him I think this should help us believe in a desired outcome that we desire to manifest...
Actually, to love may be to treat others how you would have them treat you because one who sacrifices a greater pleasure for a lesser pleasure is sacrificing a greater cause pleasure for a lesser cause pleasure that has a greater effect pleasure of perpetuating pleasure... back...
We "sacrifice" for the greater pleasure.
Or, treating others the way you would have them treat you can lead to love... Love being where it just doesn't give you pleasure to cause unpleasure... Compromising comes in when trying to stop the unpleasure of one by establishing mutual pleasure for both... (Some people may get much pleasure from ridiculing others but still not want to be ridiculed themselves, so need to consciously recall the above way, but after a time of living in this way one may start to... may quickly relate their unpleasure from an act to the possible unpleasure to another from the same act... and may not need to recall it consciously anymore...
I think that when we just like what God likes because we like it... God will like it. :) (Don't we all really prefer to be around people who are like us? This doesn't mean that we do not or should not tolerate different people but do we really want to hang around people who are nothing like us...?)
