Like you I've had the flu vaccine every year for the last 10 years or so and never suffered any adverse reaction at all that I'm aware-of. I'll continue to get it and as a Foster parent I actually *have* to get it.
Plus I work with both little kids at church and teenagers at church... it's just a good idea! :)
