Yeah, I could root my phone -- but why? Nothing I could gain from doing so is all that meaningful, really. I'd gain about as much as you would jailbreaking your iPhone, and in the meantime I already have more freedom on how I use my phone than you do.
And the App Store versus Market debate is fast becoming as fruitless as the Gaming PC versus Gaming Mac debate -- Apple got a big head start on the app market, just like Windows got a big head start on the gaming market, but the gap is rapidly closing. In fact, I would wager that for the top 10 App Store apps in any category, I could find an equivalent app in the Market. What's the point in having 50 different apps that all do the same thing? They all do the same thing! Does it really matter if the App Store has 50 different calculators, but the Market only has 30?
And at the end of the day, your iPhone doesn't have the naked lady battery meter widget that my Android has. So suck it! :-P
But all that's beside the point -- this isn't an iPhone vs. Android debate, nor an Apple vs. Google debate. This is pointing out that Apple is a shit company that treats its customers like garbage, and then they thank Apple for it!
