In another thread it was debated that it is "too late" to to be texting with someone else who isn't your partner or significant other at 1am.
I'm curious to know if there's a "cut-off" time for when communicating with anyone other than your SO/spouse/GF/BF/etc is no longer allowed.
Does it matter if the person that your SO texting is of the opposite sex (or same sex if they're gay)? Are there other factors that contribute to whether it's OK or not (ie, they're "hot", or drunk)? Would it be okay if they received these texts really late but didn't respond until the morning? What are the rules about communicating and how are they decided? Do single people have the same rules? What if you or the person you're texting work the swing/night shift? Does the content or purpose of the text have any bearing on whether it's okay?
Seems there are wide and varying opinions on the "rules" or etiquette regarding this...
Let's hear 'em! (I'll post my viewpoint as a reply to this post)
