Maybe it's cuz people from New York -- and everywhere else for that matter -- have been for decades telling Alaska how to run our state?
At any rate, I don't know anyone around here with any negative feelings towards Muslims or Islam in general. Alaska may have the reputation of being far right-wing, but we're quite liberal when it comes to people with different cultures and attitudes (unless you're gay and want to marry -- here's hoping the California challenge will make it to the SCOTUS and overturn that abomination).
