First thoughts:
Why does Obama insist on making concessions up front, instead of retaining them as bargaining chips?
Why not focus on nuclear instead of drilling?
One obvious thing jumped out at me from the graphic: the administration is clearly saying, "here's your coastal drilling, you conservative-leaning states. No drilling on the West Coast or Northeast."
Both Maryland senators came out in opposition to this plan, as did one New Jersey senator.
The drilling proposal doesn't technically effect New Jersey, but comes damn close to our southern shore.
