After the GOP ran attack ads in North Carolina bashing Obama by linking him to Wright, and after they ran ads in Mississippi doing the same thing--both times failing--will they change their strategy, or double down on it this fall?
We've all assumed for some time now that Republicans would run these kinds of ads. But what if the voters aren't buying it? Might they find a new angle to go negative with, or will they aim for the high road?
What about Republicans in Congress? After losing three straight special elections in traditionally Republican districts, they are spooked. Conservative rag Newsmax ran this headline: "GOP Loses Congressional Election, Faces Bloodbath in Nov." Will these congressmen pull out the old tricks, or will they start moderating themselves and voting with Democrats in the hopes that they'll be spared the ax in November?
Exciting times.
