heres my offering:

first up is green carnation. unfortunately, theyve broken up, but they were awesome. excellent musicians as you can hear here. very inventive and interesting. theyve got one cd which is a single 60 minute long song, and its only boring for a small portion of it towards the end. i know i just posted this, but its so awesome and beautiful it deserves to get posted again. this song is from an acoustic album they released. its being played live under a 30 meter dam in norway. i actually like the album version even better, but this is really good, too.

next up is Eluveitie. I've posted this before, also, but again, its just so good, as well as accessible, i cant resist. their other cds are folk metal, but this song is from an acoustic cd they put out.

you children of the 80's should recognize this, once it gets going. Atrocity put out a cd of covers of famous 80's songs and this is one of em. most of them are really good, especially shout, tainted love, the great commandment and people are people.

for the middle spot, the best of the lot. this bands sound is really hot, and youll like it, i kid you not! ive posted some of satyrian's songs before, but not this one. this band is just so great though. theres noone else out there with a comparable sound, except danse macabre, which is the name they used to go by. its a perfect blend of melody and harshness, darkness and upbeat feel. the cd this is from is probably going to become one of my favorites of all time.

this next one's a little less accessible than the others until now, but if you give it a chance, you may well like. agalloch tends towards the more progressive side of rock/metal, doing away with typical song structures, etc, but theyve got a great sound, sometimes. im not a big fan of all their stuff, but this songs really good. the cd its from is probably my favorite of theirs. its a long, varied song, with both clean and unclean vocals, so if youre not liking one part as much, try flipping through a bit.

marilyn manson had sex with rammstein and the result was deathstars. i dont think any more intro than that is necessary. theyre good, check em out.

and... for the grand finale, we have Haggard. truly one of the greatest bands ever. at 18 full-time members, theyre certainly one of the biggest. basically, theyre a small orchestra that also has guitar drums and bass. in addition to growled vocals from one of the guitarists, theres also a couple female and a male vocalist who provide opera-quality backing. this song is from a concept album they did about galileo. i also recommend The Observer, which is also from the same cd.

hope you enjoyed!
