I enjoy some Spanish-language music... I only have a vague idea what they're saying (relying on my high school Spanish), so I'm obviously listening more for the music and the flow, not whatever the message is. I think a lot of people listen to rap/hip-hop similarly, that is, not so much for the lyrics but the vibe, tempo, or whatever.
I think it's a shame that a lot of it objectifies women, honestly. Impact on society aside, it's such a poor reflection of the artist himself--so low-brow and uncreative. And then it's a shame that it often sells better than artists with more thoughtful and constructive lyrics.
