Rap Music and the objectification of women

I love rap music. I listen to it all the time. I feel like I should, because of feminism, denounce a lot of the rap music out there today because of its objectification of women. But instead, I find humourous at worst. Why do think that is? Does it have something to do with social influence? My friends and I call each other "hooker, ho, slut, bitch" just as much of the rap music industry does today. We feel that are usage of those words are in a playful, joking manner. When rap music uses the same terminology, it's deemed as disrespecting woman because the words are generally followed by violent or sexual lyrics.

Now, I can't say that I have statistics on all the rappers out there but, generally, I think that some of the biggest name rappers show such respect for the women in their lives, namely their mothers.

I guess my question is: Do you think it's possible to be a feminist and still like the kind of music that seemingly objectifies women? Also, do you think the music actually does objectify woman?
