we all have to grow up and realise that different people have different tastes, and just because we don't happen to like a genre of music doesn't mean it's crap.
But I think [private] brings up a good point that the reason people get that way about hip hop is it's the dominant form of music right now, and those of us who don't happen to care for it have to hear it everywhere we go. (I don't listen to the radio, but they play the radio in restaurants, stores, etc.... you can't not hear it). When pop music was dominant in that way, I heard a lot of people saying the same thing about it (this is crap, how can you listen to those fags, etc, etc).
