My current copy of Left 4 Dead 2 is legal, yada yada, and is crashing every time I get passed the opening vid (or skip it). Just--bam. Back to desktop. I've defragged the game files and reacquired corrupt ones via verifying game integrity. Am I missing something obvious? I bought the game through Steam and would really rather not reinstall it. But, you know, I will if I need to.
Any tips, fellow Steam fans? System specs available if needed. I'm running 64-bit Win 7 on a Dell Studio 15, dedicated card (integrated--pfft. Not for this thesis!). I added the proper files to my firewall, so I don't think it's that, and I don't have any reports in my Windows Event Viewer.
