age discrimination, that is. i can't see it. it's mostly because everyone passes through the exact same ages in the exact same order. the definition of "year" might be arbitrarily fixed to the earth's orbit, but elapsed time since birth continues for everyone. it's therefore impossible to have any sort of age-specific laws/rules/regulations which affect different people differently. i had to wait exactly 18 years to vote, just as any other citizen did.

something like lowering the voting age to 18 made perfect sense when there was a draft which started at 18 - but 18 years is 18 years no matter who you are.

in fact, it's probably the only universal and unchangeable demographic description among humans. how can it be discriminatory?
