I went to the doctor the very next day after I posted this. They did that 12-lead EKG, not doing the take home monitor. Waiting for an appointment with a cardiologist.
As for what I'm doing in the meantime--I'm taking chewable baby (81) aspirin and eating those like candy; about 10 or so a day. Since taking the aspirin, the symptoms stopped with only one mild incident later last night and a few aspirin later and it seemed to go away.
My guess is, I'm probably going to need a stint put in.
My blood pressure and heart rate were great, my cholesterol is good but I've got damage done to my heart from undiagnosed and untreated sleep apnea and also diabetes for who knows how long before I got it taken care of.
I've got a lot of risk factors. My father (who's in his late 80's) has to take nitro but he had his first heart attack when he was 45 but he's in excellent health otherwise. My grandmother (on my mother's side) died from heart disease. She spent the last 4 year of her life sleeping sitting up because she couldn't lie down. My mother has a heart condition and she takes various medications for that as well but my mother (like my grandmother on my mother's side) has always had high cholesterol, and I've never had that problem. Although, I am eating a lot less fish (omega-3, omega-6) which has the "good" cholesterol.
Anyway, I feel fine and will keep everyone posted.
