bad bad idea.

aside from the fat content theres other stuff in modern butter that you probably dont want to eat in such high amounts.

that aside, the right carbs are GOOD for you. your body needs them to function properly. diets like this one are knee-jerk reactions to the common americans' bad eating habits of high simple-carb diets. this includes things like sugar and white wheat. simple carbs cause spikes in your blood sugar levels that mess with various things in the body leading to weight gain and other problems.

complex carbs, on the other hand, maintain even blood sugar levels that dont mess with the body, etc. theres no problem with eating them, as long as its in moderation. the problem with americans is that they cant handle moderation. they want to be able to eat 'as much as i want' of soemthing. thats why these type of diets are so popular. you have to limit some things, but you stil get to eat as much as you want of other things. theyll work, for awhile, to lose weight, but youre not losing weight because your body is working better, youre losing weight because your body isnt getting the nutrition it needs. starving yourself would have the same effect. in point of fact, thats basically what hes doing...

the best diet is one thats well rounded with whole grains and other complex carbs (like sweet potatoes) and little sugar, white wheat and other simple carbs. moderate amounts of fats are ok, too, although some fats are better than others. extra virgin olive oil is one of the healthiest when it comes to fats. the key to everything is moderation, though.
