pikmin has a really interesting game mechanic, and it's a good all-ages game. plus, this version has some multiplayer options - coop and competitive. the main thing i didn't like about the original was that there was a time limit on it (a set number of "days" which are a certain amount of time), and i always wanted to explore and take my time. this one still has days of a set time, but you have upwards of 100 of them. for perspective, i beat it in 35 days - so there's no time pressure.
