Posted by blood roses at 10:50am Feb 23 '100-10: I don't know if I was a weird kid or this was the depression, but I wasn't happy and carefree as a child. Sure I didn't have any real problems, but my childish problems certainly seemed real and serious at the time. And if you're in a bad home situation, you can't escape it. A bad school situation you can only escape if people are willing to listen to you and help you. You're at the mercy of the authorities in your life.
11-20: Awkward teenage years and cruel classmates, ugh. Maybe good for the good looking, athletic and charming, but not so great for the rest of us. 19 and 20 were good though, that's when I really started growing, and experimenting, meeting people I really connected with, falling in love for the first time.
21-30: The rest of the university experience, which was great, early 20s just having fun and relishing my independance, settling into a career, moving in with someone and getting married. All good stuff. Becoming independant is probably what is making it my best decade, it goes back to what I said in 0-11 about a bad home life, my home life wasn't terrible but there were certain toxic elements I desperately needed some distance from and couldn't get until I moved out.
I can't really say much beyond that because I really have no idea what it's like to be 55, or 75 or whatever.
