specifically says that states can indeed impose regulations and reasonable controls on gun ownership, but they can't ban it because that's a violation of Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

No one would at all be opposed to an otherwise identical opinion protecting freedom of speech, but somehow the 2nd Amendment shouldn't apply?
