The price is real easy to explain: You go to a restaurant, you expect to pay a certain amount for you food. That restaurant owners are charging that while pocketing the large profits that brings shouldn't be at all surprising to anyone. It's the most basic principle of marketing: Charge what people are willing to pay. There's no arbitrary rules for determining what anything "should" cost beyond this principle.
I'm also not at all surprised that restaurant-goers are being served pre-made/frozen dishes. It's a great time-saver for the restaurant, not to mention the cost savings. By the way, at least in the US, you are entitled to ask for a complete ingredients list for anything being served to you; if you don't, it's your own fault that you don't know what all preservatives, additives, etc. you're being fed.
And, seriously, is anyone at all surprised that the beef patties on your burgers are frozen? C'mon!
The only time I would have a problem with this pre-packaged food is if a restaurant were deliberately marketing its food as "home-cooked" (or similar wording implying it's being made there in the kitchen) and then serving pre-packaged food instead - that's false advertising.

Heh, should have read the entire thread instead of just the OP before posting - I haven't said anything new at all! Oh well, c'est la vie.
