The version on Netflix I believe are station copies (Seasons 1-6), and they were originally broadcasted in 4:3. Seasons 7-10 were broadcasted in HD and SD 16:9

The ones on DVD were probably transfers from original 16:9 recordings.

Ironically, if you're watching it on DVD past the 6th season, you'd get them in better visual quality streaming HD on Netflix.
