I think there's one damning piece of evidence

in all our recent memories:

The 2000 presidential election:
Gore won the popular vote. Bush got the White House anyway.

And that wasn't the first time it happened, either.

Doesn't this seem directly contrary to the most fundamental principles of a democracy, or even of a democratic republic, when the person the people choose to govern them is the person who loses the "election"??

And then there's the little fact that the electors for many states are not required to cast their votes according to the will of the people they supposedly represent! I believe it was JFK that we saw this with, where an elector cast his vote for the other guy simply because, despite the overwhelming landslide victory for JFK, he didn't think it was right for a president to win unanimously.

I haven't watched the video, so maybe this stuff was all already addressed, but I've been against the EC pretty much since I first understood what the heck it is, since the first day I realized that the people don't elect our president, we elect dudes no one's ever even heard of to elect our president for us, and not necessarily the one that We the People actually want! How the hell is that a democracy??
