First, put so many spoilers in the way of the bill that the only thing that can get passed is a messed up 'compromise' that doesn't actually address the problem that it was intended to. Then, when it turns out that the bill doesn't address the core problem, parade that as if it were the other side's fault.
Yes, it's an unworkable monstrosity. Because the Republicans called the workable plan 'socialist' and killed it! And now they want to roll it back, because they didn't want to help poor people in the first place, and they managed to screw the initial bill up so badly that it hardly does that anyway.
The government would provide needy citizens with a predefined amount of money to spend on insurance and allow them to shop in a transparent, regulated, but not micromanaged marketplace.
Yeah, I'm sure that's really helpful to the people who can't get insurance because they have a known expensive condition already.
Yes, repeal this pile of crap and pass the bill that should have been passed in the first place, that actually provides minimal basic health care coverage for everyone out of taxation. But they can't do that, because the right â the very people who are now parading these figures â would propagandise against it, like they did before to make the situation what it is now.
