If we say that evolution of species is the scientific consensus, are we being "scoundrels"?
He didn't say people who hide behind the consensus are scoundels, he said the scoundrels often first hide behind the consensus, which is quite a difference. Consider this argument, because I've certainly heard it plenty of times, is when someone brings into question the issue of climate change, and the other person will say something like, "Well 90% of scientists that study the issue support my point-of-view." That's the scoundrel thing to do.
If we're talking and I question your belief in evolution, and you reply with 'Well, 99% of people believe in evolutionary theory.' do you not agree you'd be making a bad argument?
