There is a bill afoot, called the Deleting Online Predators act, that claims ephebophiles are after our teens and for this reason it wants to make it illegal for libraries in K-12 schools to allow access to MySpace. Under this bill, teens would lose their only access to MySpace, and even possibly their own MySpace accounts if they don't have a computer at home. But it's not only MySpace that's being targeted. This bill would also block other "social networking" sites, such as Bolt, Xanga and yes, even YouTube!
http://www.saveyourspace.org has a petition to stop this bill, which has already passed the house overwhelmingly. We need to get the Senate, or George W. Bush, or better yet both, to fail to pass this bill. Let the teen-age experience in the tenties continue with one of its decade's hallmarks: MySpace.
