Have you seen these? I've only seen 3, and I know there are more out there, but I'm actually saving my money to buy the DVDs. Yes, ME. Saving to purchase films, rather than downloading them like I usually do.
His movies are all spoofs/satires, and they take on everything from the alien invasion films of the 1950s to the Film Noir scene of the 1930s. Each film is tailored specifically to fans of that genre, and many of the jokes are lost on those unfamiliar with the original material, but if you're a fan of the films, they're SOOOOOO worth it.
I was first introduced to "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra", a biting spoof of the 1940s-50s black and white sci-fi genre. It runs like an Ed Wood movie, but intentionally funny, rather than trying to be serious (like Wood's films were).
The next one I saw was "Trail of the Screaming Forehead", taking on the atomic age films of alien invasion. Hilarious dialogue, and side-splitting "special effects".
The third one, the one I'm rewatching right now, is "Dark and Stormy Night", where Blamire takes on the murder mysteries of the 1930s. I've been giggling non-stop since it started, and I've SEEN it before!
All in all, his films are great if you're a fan of the particular genre he's making fun of, or if you've at least seen a film in that genre. I really hope this guy stays around, his films are amazingly funny.
