Well first, I was expecting more of a fun National Treasure type movie. This one was instead dark and creepy. It also had so much promise! Yet it ended up being pretty formulaic and reliant on effects.
Best plane crash scene ever, though. The scene was all "Cloverfield" for realism, and it worked great. The post-crash wreckage stuff was a bit gratuitous, however.
Overall, Knowing is sort of like Donnie Darko meets The Day After Tomorrow as directed by M Night Shyamalan on a bad day, starring Nicholas Cage. If that sounds appealing to you, go see it!
