This one happened to be the first disk I got on my new Netflix membership (note to self: drop that thing in the mail tomorrow). I went in to it with pretty much zero expectations, except that I was hoping for some good action. I had no idea what the basic plot was, I knew really nothing about it, but the previews promised some good action and that's really all I was hoping to get out of it.

It turned out to be pretty darn good! The plot was a bit of a cross of Equilibrium and Dr. Strangelove, with a healthy dose of Mad Max near the end.

Now, when I say it's good, I'm not talking Oscar nominations here - it's not that good. But it was more than just some cheap thrills and well-choreographed action. The acting was good, the plot and writing were good, and the whole delivery kept me interested and entertained. Most of the action scenes were stellar!

Of course, there were some very predictable moments (like the encounter at the hospital - really, who didn't see that coming?), and there were some plot holes, too, one in particular that's big enough it could get a freight train through the Rockies at sea level! But overall I really did enjoy the movie, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see some good action supported by a good plot.
