So you're good there -- no fellow squadmates to not use their mics! ;-)

The only multiplayer the game has is head-to-head, 1-on-1.

One of the developers described the game thusly (paraphrased):
"It's like chess, but with big guns and aliens. Come to think of it, that's nothing like chess."

You take turns moving your squad around the map, shooting the other guys while trying to minimize your own casualties.
