(add in extra exclamation points and question marks, to emphasize my - perhaps unearned and unfair - incredulity.)
i was planning on getting stuff done yesterday. pssh.
what a lovely, simple game. i tried out B:BC last week, and, while pretty and whatnot, Isaac leaves it in the dust. without the randomizing of levels and items, it'd be pretty boring, but holy hell they've packed a lot in. i've been cheating - found an item/special/tarot card list, which i keep having to check....but seriously, check this out. that's more items than...another game that has a lot of items.
basically, it's similar to the Legend of Zelda i've played on the SNES, but much darker....imagine Lunch Money with memes and Cyanide & Happiness. you play characters trying to fight their way out of the basement, where Isaac ended up when he ran away from his crazy christian mom who heard the Voice of God tell her to kill him. yup.
anyway, $4.99 on Steam. it's only got a metascore of 83, which is way too low imo. just be careful - i found it HIGHLY addictive.
(thanks to you, tass - i was looking over the steam community, saw you getting achievements, and had a look at it.)
