I was a red dragon today! :D

LARPing is gaming, right? So I can put Amtgard stuff on this board, yes? :P

Today at Amtgard was a big deal...GUILD WARS!! Warriors, assassins, monks, healers, bards, and wizards all went up against each other for bragging rights the chance to have the guild relic until the next Guild Wars, in either 3 or 6 months. I opted not to play a guild, and instead I went for monster, and told the guy running it that I'd play whatever he needed me to play. The monster Jay picked out for me? A red dragon. SCORE. That's 4 points of natural armor all over, siege weapons, I can fly, I can shove, and since we couldn't find fireballs for me to use, Jay gave me unlimited stun and fear. I never used the stun, but I used the hell out of fear... "I make thee afraid" is easy to say 3 times, and it forces the person to stay at least 20 feet away from me for 5 minutes.

I was assigned to stay on the paths, wander around, and play it however I want. Being a fair-minded sort, I singled out the warriors and attacked the hell out of them. >.> (this actually was an effort to even the game, the warriors had over a dozen people, the monks and assassins each had about half a dozen, and the wizards and bards and healers each had 3) I found RP reasons to kill them...I went around harassing people about being kind to my woods, and a wizard told me the warriors were burning my woods, plus a warrior sneaked up on me and killed me, at which point it became a warrior-dragon war in my eyes...also, I convinced the warriors to offer me the one who had killed me as an apology...he willingly came forward, and I gave him a good nut shot with my siege weapon and skipped merrily away. :D

I also went at the monks a little bit...they were hanging out in a castle near where I started the game...I told them to leave and they promised they would, and every time I came back and they were still there, I confronted them again...threatened them, made them afraid, shoved them, and eventually I did kill a few.

At one point, Astrianna, a healer, asked for my help to get her flag back. I decided I like spellcasters, and red things (since I was a red dragon, and the healers' color is red), so I told her I'd help her, and asked where it is. She said it was at the warrior base. Hah! Most of the warriors lurk around their base, there was no way even I could pull that off...

But I RPed a big tough strong dragon, and I went in and one by one, I cast fear on every warrior in the base. They were all forced to stay 20 feet away from me, and thus their base. It was kind of epic, to be honest. :D I singlehandedly took over their base. Of course, if they had thought about it and friggin charged me, there was *no* way I could have done anything except maybe fly away...but no, instead they mostly just waited for me to cast my spell on them all. One or two did charge me when I started casting on them, but the spell is fast to get off and I have siege weapons (which kill immediately regardless of what they touch), so they either ended up afraid anyway or simply died.

Unfortunately, in that time, Astrianna was killed, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't allowed that I could take the flag back myself. I tried to make a warrior do it, but he had the sense not to, so I killed him. ;) End game got called though, and the warriors had never reported to Jay that they had the flag, so it didn't count...I can't claim credit for that, but I can certainly, proudly claim credit for singlehandedly taking the warrior base for myself...I doubt I'll ever forget that!

I got many compliments on how I played the dragon, including from warriors (which is really good to hear, I was really hoping they weren't gonna think I was bullying them unfairly...and I did kill others! Granted, it was usually because I decided that they hadn't killed enough warriors for my satisfaction, but even so...).
