The US September jobs report is out. The July and August numbers were revised upward, and the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8%. First time it's been below 8% in years. Good news for the President as he seeks reelection. Some critics are already attacking, saying his administration manipulated the numbers. Any evidence of that? No, of course not.
Personally I'd like to see job creation above 200,000 per month. 114,000 is good--a "relief"--but not enough. Congress is going to have to get the whole "fiscal cliff" situation resolved soon or else the uncertainty in the economy will build and threaten growth.
