A draft Congressional report is naming 5 senior ATF officials as being responsible for Fast and Furious, going all the way up to then-acting Director Kenneth Melson.
Congressional investigators also say that two more reports are coming, including one that will detail how Obama's Atty. Gen. Eric Holder obstructed Congressional efforts to investigate the scandal; I've no doubt that Obama's own obstructionist involvement in the cover-up -- including asserting executive privilege over documents he simultaneously claims he had no involvement in! -- will also feature in the report.
Meanwhile, we now have hard evidence of a cover-up from within the ATF itself, specifically of the fact that weapons used in the murder of then-Mexican prosecutor Patricia Gonzalez's brother Mario Gonzalez almost 2 full years ago were supplied to the Mexicans by the ATF, thanks to Fast and Furious. Specifically, we have e-mails from ATF Agent Tonya English requesting that the link not be revealed -- a request that was fulfilled! While the ATF knew almost immediately of the connection, no one bothered to tell anyone in the Mexican government about the connection until 8 months after the fact -- a fact (and a cover-up) that very well could have, and still might, cause a serious international incident: We armed the drug cartels that then murdered family of a Mexican prosecutor trying to reign them in!!
Also, the report itself [PDF].

The bottom line here is that the ATF knowingly and deliberately armed the Mexican drug cartels, directly contributing to the growing and spreading violence south and north of the border! Fast and Furious weapons have been linked to no fewer than 3 major cartels in Mexico -- a breadth of influence that means that we still have not seen the end of the harm these weapons will ultimately cause.added on 7:07pm Jul 31 '12:
Oops, forgot the link. Also, the report itself [PDF].
