The DNA evidence is either going to doom him, or exonerate him, so why not sign the petition? Though I doubt the petition will make a damned difference-- online petitions rarely (if ever, probably never) have any sort of effect on a judge's decision. And overall, the courts don't weigh online petitions as worth anything, so it's a nice gesture but most likely that's about it.
