Marble Falls, Texas is under lockdown when it comes to the water. At first they were just asking everyone to conserve water and not drink it-now.....don't drink it, don't brush your teeth, don't shower, don't touch it. I got the first message last night at 11:00pm with the local government advising what I just mentioned. I was like, eh, okay. But I have to really SPRING CLEAN because I'm getting a home study done on Tuesday to see if my home and I are adequate enough to take care of my nieces.
About an hour ago, I stepped outside to sweep my porch and there were three boxes with six gallon jugs of water, and a case of bottled water. Along with a little plastic baggie with a towel, 4 toothbrushes, toothpaste, 2 combs and loads of hand sanitizer. So...I guess they're pretty serious!
I'm making sure to put bleach in my cleaning water and I'm boiling water to wash my dishes! But other than that they say...
By order of the Mayor, the City has implemented Stage 3-Severe Wather Shortage Conditions of the City's Drought Contingency Plan. Citizens must discontinue all nonessential water use effective immediately! Nonessential water use means water usages that are neither non essential nor required for the protection of public, health safety and welfare. (and I have loads of laundry!!)
Then it goes on to say where Porta Potty's are located! I've looked around the town a bit and it does look kind of bad. Low crossing bridges are literally broken as are some of the streets and there is debris everywhere around the curbs. I guess I just didn't think it was too bad since I didn't see the risen water. I didn't even watch the news!
They say they're still testing the water, but do you think they're just saying that so nobody panics? I mean, it's been a week already! How long does it take to test water??
