Drug prices would plummet if the risk of getting caught were removed, which in turn would take a serious bite out of the cartels' profits, seriously hampering how much violence they could (literally) afford.
Not to mention that the violence itself would be totally unnecessary in the first place, since no one's trying to take their shit from them!
