However then think that this person is "happily" married, and has kids. Now how do you feel.
Would you urge them to out themselves at least to there sig other? Would you have questions? Would you keep quite and see how things panned out?
What if you were really good friends with the spouse of this person as well would you eventually feel obligated to tell them if the other party refused?
