Seriously, though, the comparison has been made, and it's not entirely without merit (although personally I wouldn't have gone quite that far) - the way Israel is wholesale punishing every single Gazan resident for the actions of a few militants is nothing short of an atrocity.
"If this kind of situation had existed for instance in the manner in which China was dealing with Tibet or the Sudanese government was dealing with Darfur, I think there would be no reluctance to make [the Israel-Nazi] comparison," says Professor Richard Falk, the soon-to-be UN Human Rights Council investigator looking into Israel's actions.
