Our current mobile devices include my phone (sore subject atm) and a Kindle Fire (wife's). I was thinking about getting another 7-inch tablet. At first I was looking at the cheaper ~$100 ones, which obviously don't have the best specs. But it would mainly be used by my three year old so he doesn't have to borrow the Fire all the time (he watches videos and plays games).
But I started to think it might be a better idea to get a higher quality unit, and one that is well-supported. I'd be able to use it, too.
If I was willing to look at tablets up to $200, the [private] 7 stands out. Downsides... no memory card slot, and some people have had screen issues (washed-out colors). But it's got a quad-core processor and the screen resolution is better than the Fire. It also features the latest Android version. Can any 4Ker comment on this thing, or suggest other options?
