its meant to be a protocol that allows you to set up devices as either a Display Device or a File Server.

My PS3 is a Display Device, my phone is a server. In theory I can set it up so that I can browse the media on my phone via the PS3 or I can use my phone to "throw" media to be displayed on the PS3.

I've had some very hit and miss luck with it. I tried to set up my Mac as a DLNA server to stream media to the PS3 and it would work about 50% of the time. My phone has had more luck.

What I want in my next TV will be Direct-WiFi.
