i'll probably go with the 'copy to C' method. just need to get a C....the one i was planning on using i think i'm going to stick in another computer.
also, it might be a moot point anyway - i'm putting in a new MB (same model, RMA'ing the fucker), and windows usually doesn't like it when you change the motherboard. fuckers.
