why?

Because I'm not a real developer like you guys and these are the things I'm most practiced and comfortable with.

If I had to build it myself, I'd stick with what I know best and what I'm most comfortable with.

I've worked with ASP and ASP.Net quite a lot in an ad-hoc kinda way... I've spent my entire professional life managing various IIS implementations... and I've recently trained-up as a MS-SQL DBA on 2008. I know T-SQL is ISO compliant and I could easily just go with MySQL for free... but I really do like MS-SQL.
